NARS Final Cut Blushes Review (Beautezine)

It’s no secret that I have a serious love affair happening with NARS Blushes… Not only did they win an Beautezine 2013 Editor’s Choice Beauty Award, but I’m pretty sure Coeur Battant has gotten more use in the last 4 months than any other blush I’ve ever owned. I couldn’t have been more excited to meet these four beauties when I heard of the Final Cut collection, and I’m pretty smitten with each of them.

The collection includes Sex Fantasy (pale lavender pink), Love (tea rose), New Attitude (cherry blossom pink) and Final Cut (peach coral). They all have the same satin-matte texture, and if you’re into color-coordinating, the collection also features a Satin Lip Pencil to match each blush shade too.

NARS Blushes are usually awesome- great pigmentation, blend nicely into the skin and last pretty much all day. Three in this collection live up to those claims, with Sex Fantasy being a little bit more on the sheer side (the pale lavender shade isn’t the most flattering). I don’t think it will show up on many skin tones, and I felt like I had to layer it too many times to get it to show up, resulting in a bit of a muddy texture on my skin. It’s a pretty color in the pan, but I just don’t think I’d reach for it. The other three shades though are awesome! Love is a great everyday shade that looks natural while New Attitude and Final Cut are a bit more bold and vibrant.

The texture is flattering and looks smooth on the skin without a powdery finish. I actually prefer matte or satin blushes, because I’d rather apply the shimmer and highlight exactly where I want rather than emphasizing my pores. I found the wore well throughout the day (except for Sex Fantasy) and if I had to choose a favorite… I’d probably go with Love!

There’s definitely something for everyone in this collection.
