Goblet Squats

Today I want to share an exercise with you that is a great option to vary your squats- the Goblet Squat!

For this exercise, you want to hold a plate/kettlebell/dumbbell close at your chest. Then perform a squat down to 90 degrees. Keep your chest and head up. At the bottom, pause and use your elbows to push your knees outward a little more. Then return back up by pressing through your heels.

Here’s why it is different:

  • It is more natural than having a heavy barbell on your back; and therefore more functional.
  • It works your arms and core a lot!
  • It is more accessible as it can be done with just one weight.
