Life update: Back in London, with a baby!
What a surprise, it’s been several months since I last blogged. Ai yi yi.
Well, what’s new…. I’m back in London, we moved back last month after four amazing years in New York and San Francisco. We loved living, working and making friends in the US, but we were hankering for a sense of “home”, especially once we had a baby on the way.
Oh, I’ve had a baby since my last post! She’s called Georgia and is 6 months old (she was 3 months in the picture above). She is a determined little character. Keeps me on my toes! She was born in the US, so the lucky thing has a US passport should she ever want to live and work in the land of opportunity when she’s older.
Life has changed a lot. New York and San Francisco seem like they never actually happened – they could have just been dreams. I miss America a lot, I miss the openness and positivity of Americans, I miss their fun-loving and creativity. I miss the rush of Manhattan, the road trips through California. I miss expat life. I miss hearing American accents.
BUT I’m glad to be settling into our dream home (we bought a house which unexpectedly turned into a sort of Grand Designs style project) and to finally have all my belongings in one place – not trailing behind in each city I’ve lived in. I like that friends and family can pop round without having to get on a 11-hour flight. I like eating English biscuits. I like that the UK will be all festive soon.
Err.. and how out of date is my blog?? It still says I’m in New York.
