Ellis Faas Fresh Coral Blush

Disclaimer: Sample. See bottom for more

I mentioned in my post on Wednesday that while going through my draft folder in WordPress, I deleted a lot of failed starts at reviews and features going back to 2013. In addition to the Kevyn Aucoin palette, this Ellis Faas Ellis Skin Blush is another product I didn’t want to just “delete,” because I found the product unique, and clearly remember its performance and application. I wanted to share that experience with you!

Ellis Faas, an influential and celebrated makeup artist, developed her line of cosmetics draws color inspiration from the human body, according to the brand website. Everything from the color of the blood in our veins to the pigment of the freckles on our faces. The cosmetics are packaged in these unique, long bullet-like tubes. At the time I spoke with a brand ambassador (I swear it was Johnny Lavoy but I can’t remember exactly!), he told me that the packaging was sleek and designed for quick use by makeup artists – there are different holders for the bullet packaging, including clips you can wrap around your arm (if you’re curious, check it out here).

When you pull the cap off, you find a white brush and you twist the bottom of the packaging to release the blush.

The packaging in this way is like Stila Lip Glazes, for example.

Fresh Coral is a color that can be universally flattering, and definitely worked on my fairer skin tone. Here’s a bit blended out on the back of my hand:

Here is how I wore it:

I had a little powder mixed in here so you see a little pilling but this blends really nicely with liquid or cream foundations.

What struck me about this product is the unique packaging, the flattering shade and the easy of use. It also wasn’t very messy to fuss with, either. You really have opportunity to build up color to the opacity you want.

Here are the ingredients, taken from the brand website: “Water/Eau/Aqua, Propylene Glycol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Mica, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Silica, Beheneth‐30, Squalane, Polyacrylamide, Hexyldecanol, Glyceryl Isostearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Glycerin, Bis‐Peg‐18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Sodium Acrylate / Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Polyaspartate, Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Glycerides, C13‐14 Isoparaffin, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Isohexadecane, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 80, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides, Laureth‐7, Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tetrasodium Edta, Hexylene Glycol, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid. You can find Ellis Faas Fresh Coral (S302) Blush on the Ellis Faas site for $34 here. If I purchase more from Ellis Faas, it will be at The Makeup Show, where I can experiment with some of the colors and different types of product.

Have you ever heard of Ellis Faas or her brand of cosmetics? What do you think of this packaging? I think it’s very convenient for traveling, personally!

Disclaimer: I received the blush for review from the PR Firm/Manufacturer in a press bag at The Makeup Show NYC. Please visit my Disclosure tab for more information on how BeautyJudy.com keeps it real!
