Before and After: Mid-Century Kitchen Makeover

While pinning this week I stumbled across an amazing kitchen remodel, designed by Sarah Sherman Samuel. This kitchen is so full of fresh, unique ideas that, I wanted to share the inspiration. You will love the before and after transformation of this space. It is so clever and beautiful at the same time. Take a peek into this mid-century kitchen makeover…

Before

After

One thing I noticed right away is how this isn’t a large kitchen. This kitchen is a great example of what can be done to maximize a smaller space. Her use of paint colors and finishes make this kitchen feel fresh, bright and open.

This kitchen was not only cleverly designed but budget friendly as well. The cabinet bases are from IKEA. Then she used custom fit doors and drawer fronts from Semihandmade that she spray painted with Farrow and Ball, “Pigeon”.

The brass accents in this kitchen are stunning and add beautiful color and dimension. I love how she mixed metal in this space, choosing stainless steel appliances and brass hardware. They pair beautifully with the Calacutta Marble counters.

The two globe pendant lights (similar here) make a beautiful transition from the kitchen to living area. It was so clever to remove the original kitchen wall. This has a huge impact on the flow and feel of this space. It now looks like a great place to entertain and welcome guests.

The warmth from styling and furniture selections compliment the kitchen’s color palette and come together in such a pretty design. There is a beautiful mix of mid-century and vintage style finds. To get complete details on this space, such as the paint process of the cabinets and more pictures, visit here. I hope you have enjoyed the inspiration from this amazing kitchen remodel like I have. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
