XV, Christmas under the palm trees
December came way too soon this year, I mean it comes fastevery year but this year.. Woah it was August just yesterday right?! I feel like writing in English for a change and maybe reading this helps some of you for getting ready for English exams in school haha. Just kidding, I feel like my texts in English are just as bad as they were when I arrived in here :D But I´m working on it everyday in school! So, I have been really busy with school things since this is our last week of school, we still have two normal days next week and then we only have half days because of the finals. I´m not stressed about the finals at all, I haven´t really been studying at all this whole Fall and my grades are really good so I decided not to stress, I have no reason to :p Last Saturday we made a day trip to San Francisco with my host mom, sister, area representative and other exchange students. This was my second time in SF
(click this to see the first trip) and I really got to see a whole different side of this city!!
Some of the streets in SF are really steep and it looks so cool, especially at nights!
On Saturday Finland celebrated its 97th birthday and I got really happy when I spotted this big flag in downtown. I have no idea if it was for our independence dayor not but it really felt great to see a piece of my dear little country in the middle of a big city.
Before we went ice-skating we got to take funny pictures in these huuuuge jackets with the winter backround behind us. We tried to look like we were freezing but honestly wearing those jackets for like 30 seconds made you sweat so we were all feeling really hot!
Ice-skating was so much fun! I had no problems to stay up but it was funny to help others and to see them struggle of course xD
My host sister got a little help from the guys ;)
The downtown reminded me a little about New York. New York but with palm trees haha!
I got to see the Golden Gate Bridge again but this time from the other side!
I think it was really cute how the palm trees had Christmas lights too!
Right now I´m just laying in bed because I skipped practice because I can feel that I´m getting sick.. I´ve been so busy doing stuff here that I haven´t been thinking about home too much but I have to say that the fact that my first Christmas without my own family is coming makes me a little sad... :( A lot of kisses to my family in Finland :* And happy holidays to everyone who´s reading this, I´ll be back soon!
