Everlane Cashmere: Always Well-Priced, Never On Sale

I always grapple a bit with Black Friday/Cyber Monday and all that jazz: In short, I don’t like the frenzy of either of them, though I’m happy to take advantage of discounts to pick up things I’ve been meaning to buy (i.e., I make a list and stick to it). That said, it seems like things are always on sale these days, no? Or that you can at least snag a discount through a coupon site like Tada (a sister-site), or by signing up for a shop’s online newsletter.

Anyway, I’ve been a long-time fan of Everlane, and find it even more refreshing that they don’t participate in the holiday hub-bub. It’s really because their stuff is so well, and fairly-priced all year round, that there isn’t any room for discounting. It’s transparency, at it’s best. Their $15 and $25 t-shirts? Some of the best around. And they don’t change them, which means you can replenish over time without worrying that the design has been tweaked. And while I haven’t tried their cashmere, it’s on my holiday wish list, for sure. (I do object to their wallet, though, as it is a wee bit close to Commes Des Garcons’ version…I know there are only so many ways to turn out wallets, and the interior is notably difference, but something about it seems a little too much like a direct quote. Also, Commes des Garcons’ wallets can’t be beat: They’re pricey but they last for a decade, no joke.)

clockwise, l-r: THE SLOUCHY CASHMERE CARDIGAN, $140.00, Everlane; THE WOMEN’S V, $15.00, Everlane; THE CASHMERE CREW, $120.00, Everlane; SLOUCHY RYAN TANK, $20.00, Everlane.
