It’s pretty much impossible at this point not to be fully versed in all things NastyGal, the L.A.-based e-commerce start-up (and now shoe and clothing brand) that famously got its start as an eBay store. Founder Sophia Amoruso (aforementioned eBay-er) developed an entirely new glam-punk aesthetic—and not only does she wear it well, but she’s turned it into a billion dollar business.
Last week, shopping-site Racked brought Portland upstart Wildfang to my attention, which is looking to pioneer the Tomboy sensibility—though it’s not just Tomboy in a Steven Alan/APC way—it’s Tomboy in a Bullet-From-The-Killing way. It’s all modeled by tough real girls, and it’s not glamorous at all. I’m into it. What think you? Huge snaps for the very friendly price-points.
