Tunnel Vision

“Our willingness to wait reveals the value we place on the object we’re waiting for.”
― Charles Stanley Ross

These are easily some of my favourite photos that my boyfriend has taken of me so far. We were exploring in the Strathcona neighbourhood when we came across this gem. I absolutely love shooting in unexpected places and making use of everything it has to offer.

These photos remind me that at the end of the day, how we experience life is just a matter of perspective. Despite seeking professional help, my depression has hit an all-time low. But as the saying goes, “Things will get worse before they get better.” As difficult as it seems, I remain patient and trust that the bigger picture of everything will help see me through because when the going gets tough, the tough get going. It’s like tunnel vision. I got my eyes on the prize and everything else is simply a distraction that falls by the wayside.

On that note, my boyfriend is taking me to Whistler for the long weekend/my birthday. I’m so thankful to be celebrating another birthday with him. It’s funny how we all have a checklist and set qualification for the right person to love. Before we meet anyone, we create this ideal of a significant other. Then when we actually meet someone, we try to mold that person into our ideal—and yet, deep in our hearts, we know that the person we truly love will always be the exception.
