My mind cauldron had these attributes thrown in: practical, effective, youth-boosting, and desirable. The inspiration of the post screams from this image, how can you not do a Mom feature centered on a washable, wipe-down H&M x Marge Simpson monogrammed pouch? Click through to the full post to see what’s inside!

WASHBAG: H&M x Marge Simpson Php599

Just a few notes on some of the products that I’ve never mentioned before (with the exception of the Sisley Dark Spot Corrector which I’m still testing), I’ve linked to the ones I’ve already reviewed. A couple of recent favorites are, in order of their endearment:

1) The Maybelline Age Rewind “The Eraser” Treatment concealer $10 from NYC (drugstores) , covers and knocks out darkness

This product was, as Val Garland likes to say, “Validated”, by a couple of Brazilian models I had a folio shoot with over a year and a half ago, they were sweethearts sharing inside scoop with me as a new makeup artist. They said it frustrated them that that particular Age Rewind concealer range by Maybelline wasn’t available here because it was the only sure thing that would knock out their dark circles for VTR auditions and go-sees plus that range in the states comes in a whole spectrum of shades up to medium to deep African-American skin. My shade is Medium ( a mac NC30-35) and my countershade for reverse sculpting is Neutralizer (a mac NC25). Sometimes on a day out I won’t use foundation and only use this concealer and people ask what “foundation” I’ve got on coz it knocks out darkness in corners so well (I only apply it under my eyes, across the bridge of my nose, round the corners of my mouth, and on the outer corners of my eyes). Hello, Maybelline, grinning over here and hope you get the hint. If you haven’t picked up that it’s a sellout then believe it when Essie Button says shes been using it, Vivianna Does Makeup says the same, and the fact that when my Tita went abroad and tried to top me up some stock she said the medium to dark shades were sold out in 2 outlets of Duane Reade and 1 CVS store (thanks to tourists like us) and the Medium one she found for me was the last one. A local undereye concealer in place of this that I love and knocks out darkness is the Clinique Airbrush Pen Concealer but the caveat is they only sell it here in one shade, light 03 which suits mac nc30 shade ladies like myself.

2.) Benefit Dandelion Boxed Blush Php1600 , a celebrity fave

Team Benefit just recently topped me up for my professional kit and this was one of the products I requested. The main reason being that this happens to be a favorite satin, bright-ish but at the same time light-ish warm pink blush of the Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Her meek and sweet makeup artist, the great Fanny Serrano-mentored Peachy (who also did my makeup for my debut years ago) let me in on the scoop that this is Tita’s favorite shade from the Benefit Cosmetics’ blush range when she feels like having a fresh pink cheek on that doesn’t scream matryoshka. Believe me, when Peachy does Tita Sharon’s makeup, I stare because it’s so clean.

3.) The NEW Avene Micellar Lotion/Water Makeup Remover Php735 for 200ml (vs. Bioderma Crealine Php1300 for 250ml) , removes waterproof makeup better

The strong claim of this version of micellar water is that it has been surveyed and proven to remove waterproof makeup better than Bioderma Crealine (plus it’s cheaper for the amount you get!?), I have tried it for makeup removal and yes my waterproof mascara and eye makeup moved off more easily with this formula by Avene, not instantly, but quicker. My only very eensy weensy peeve with it is…why is it scented, albeit very mildly…but still scented? They could have spared the parfum ingredient and brought the price even lower and the product value even higher if it was fragrance-free. Thankfully though, despite being scented it doesn’t sting my eyes at all.

4.) The Benefit Hello Flawless Powder Php1900

It seems to be a more finely milled version of MAC studio fix powder, a bit more fallout but goes on smoother with a lighter looking but high coverage finish. I tried the Hazelnut shade on Gary Valenciano during an ad campaign shoot last week just to test it vs. MAC studio fix, it looked flawless on camera and didn’t crease as much.

5.) The Make Up For Ever Plexi Gloss in 100p Php900 , for Kardashianesque plump lips

Quick mention because I plan to review this separately, this plus neutral or no lipstick = kardashian nude-y gloss lips…and the stickiness is fair not a faff and wears away nicely.

6.) Phyto 9 Nourishing Day Cream Php795

This Phyto treatment product from Rustan’s does for me what Anna of Vivianna Does Makeup claims the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day styling product does for hers. Don’t know if it will work the same for you. When my pixie hair looks fluffy and unattractive after a towel-dried first wash I’ll work some of this in and the fluff disappears and I get non-greasy looking separation and piece-y texture on my cut.

7.) NEW Shiseido Wet Force SPF50 Sunscreen

Shiseido sunscreens are a favorite of mine when it comes to facial UV protection, now they’ve innovated with a new product that protects even more aggressively once the formula on your skin comes into contact with water. Yes that’s right, this product’s special formula boosts the UV protection when triggered by water or sweat during your outdoor summer activities.

I so love the look of this H&M x Simpsons washbag because it’s fun, washable, and simple at the same time and the size is large, just what a lot of moms would like for packing global fallout life essentials in, lol. Plus, if you have the MAC Marge Simpsons makeup collection (which I don’t) what better bag to house it in? It also makes for a fun clutch to bring to the beach for sunglasses, sunblock, and the rest of your shoreline essentials. Do you plan to try and get any of my recommendations for your Mom on Mother’s Day? Hope you liked this week’s edit :).
