Jo Waterhouse

Come into my bedroom

I have a cleverly tiled bedside table: I've achieved this special effect by putting tiles on it. You too can re-create this look at home by simply putting some tiles on your bedside table. (D.I.Y. guru jo waterhouse's best tutorial to date)

I really like tiles, I've never had the opportunity to agonise over how to tile a bathroom or some-such, I'm not sure I'd be much good at it. I treat them much more like small plaques: handy flat things that you can use to express some small thoughts or feelings that you like. Let me talk you through my tiles . . .

Top left is a delft tile that I had to rescue from my stall, I really like Delft tiles. To it's right is the best tile ever. The left hand tile on the bottom row is a really nicely hand-painted duck tile that Mr Beedle Coram told me is made by a husband and wife duo in the 1950s. The spots and the circle I got from the Lubna Chowdhary sample sale that I found out about from My Friends House, beauties no? And finally, bottom right is a tile I made for Jack, it has the month and year we were both born written on it (we were born in the same month and year), so if you look closely you will know how old I am.

Ok, get out of my bedroom now you dirty dogs.
