The Prettiest Powder- Givenchy Prisme Libre Voile Rose

It’s really hard for me to getting excited about a face powder. It takes a truly stunning presentation, an ethereal effect and a fabulous formulation to show up on my radar…OOPS! I kind of just gave away the whole point of this review… well… here you go!

The Givenchy Prime Libre was scarcely a thought to me before Vanessa of

theBombshellSuite on Youtube talked about it in one of her videos. She sung it’s praises and I knew I had to investigate.

From the first moment you look at the powder you notice all of the gorgeous detail that went into it’s design. The logo embossed on a leather topped cap and the individual logos for each of the colors to sift through.

The powder I purchase is in the shade Voile Rose, which I wouldn’t have picked had Vanessa not also loved it. As a warmer/yellow skin tone I don’t normally purchase pink based products. But it worked on her so I figured it would on me too. Sure enough, it does.

There are four different colors that meld together into one radiance boosting shade. There is a white, a bright medium pink, a peachy pink and a yellow/beige. This is the silkiest loose powder I have ever touched. It’s incredibly finely milled and undetectable on the skin. It has the tiniest little shimmers that add a sophisticated glow to the skin without being obvious.

What Givenchy says: Voile Rosé: Sensual and voluptuous with a mingling of pinks and mother-of-pearl, this shade creates a halo of light and radiance.

I whole-heartedly agree with their description. “Halo of light” is exactly what this does. I tried my best to get a swatch, and you can kind of see the effect here:

The powder is pricey at $53 but you do get 3g of each color (12g total) or .42oz. You don’t need much; a light dusting will do. It is lightly fragranced, so if that’s something that bothers you I would recommend trying it in store before you shell out the cash. I don’t find the scent offensive at all, and it dissipates quickly once blended onto the skin. The only annoyance I have is that I seem to always have a little powder stuck under the cap and when I twist it open it gets on my vanity. It’s not super messy, but enough so that I noticed it.

My verdict? The first paragraph of this post says it all so I’ll repeat myself; a truly stunning presentation, an ethereal effect and a fabulous formulation. Totally worth it!
