A Princess Sofia Magical Time at Our #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate

I received free products from Walt Disney World Resort and MomSelect in order to host a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate. The opinions expressed here are my own.

This time of the year is a busy one for most due to the holidays, but that doesn’t mean playdates have to be placed on the back burner. The girls love getting together with their friends and cousins, so hosting a Disney Kids Preschool Playdate during Thanksgiving week was a great way to get the kids together while the parents are mostly already off work for the holiday. It was also a great way for us parents to have some time together while the kids had a blast playing games and having fun together.

We really love Disney, and my girls both adore Sophia the First. We’re planning to take the girls to Disney for the first time this Spring since Ellie will be starting Kindergarten next year. When our Disney Kids Preschool Playdate kit arrived Ellie could barely contain her excitement. When the day of the party arrived she was up before my alarm went off ready to go. I found her in our box of goodies pulling out the tablecloth and party plates ready to set the table up herself! She didn’t have to wait long. A few of our guests didn’t get to join us because of the usual cold weather bugs that are going around, but we still had a lot of fun!

We decided to serve Thanksgiving food that both the parents and kids could enjoy, and I made a batch of Sofia’s Seashell Mac and Cheese (recipe below) to give the kids something extra special. Then it was time to setup for the party. We had plenty of decorations and snack food thanks to Disney.

When the party-goers arrived we attempted to start the party with some fun activities like coloring straw banners, but the kids weren’t having it.

They were all ready to eat! We passed out Princess crowns, made Xander a prince crown so he didn’t feel left out, and let them stuff their faces.

Once everyone was finished eating lunch we passed out goodie bags with some great snacks for later that included Disney Princess fruit snacks, Cinnamon & Sugar crisps, and Clif Kid Z Bar granola bars. Then we moved on to the activities.

The kids had already discovered a stack of Disney chore charts, so while we had them sitting down us Moms gave them a lesson in chore charts and how they can help around the house. Preschoolers may not like the idea of chores, but they all loved the charts. Even the littlest guest got the “talk” even if she’s a few years away from understanding.

Then it was time for the fun stuff! We played Disney bingo, and the two older ones (4 and 5) really enjoyed it, but the younger ones were clueless.

After that came the “Which Disney Junior Character Are You?” fortune teller. None of the kids really understood the game, but it brought back a lot of junior and high school memories for us parents! I won’t say who, but I spotted a couple of the parents sitting off to the side playing with their kid’s fortune teller long after we had moved onto another activity! We ended the party with some fun time squishing and playing with some Kinetic sand! That was a great sensory activity for all the kids who ranged in age from 17 months- 5 years. I do believe I’ve found a great gift idea for our group of preschoolers!

Our little group of preschool munchkins all had a great time at their Disney Playdate. If you would like to throw a Disney Playdate or party for the little ones in your life it’s super easy. You can find lots of recipes and activities on the DisneySide Celebrations website to have a party of your own! You will also find tons of great Disney themed recipes, but you can grab this awesome Sofia Seashells Mac and Cheese recipe from Family.Disney.com!
