hashtag Sunday

#shithappens On Thursday I turned 28. Another year wiser, I decided to go back towards a more natural shade of chestnut hair color. Instead, I came out looking like Lady Mary. Lesson: A.) Older does not mean wiser B.) Shit Happens and C.) It will fade. I'm just about the last person to get upset over hair color- I've been more shades than Drew Barrymore and by now know how to change my makeup to match. But Olivia Palermo, your gorgeous tresses led me in the wrong direction, well you, and pinterest.
#scandal I painted my nails and bought new lipstick this weekend. Stop the presses. This story is huge. SAHM attends to self *SCANDAL*
#skinnyfatisnotsexy January proved a good month for that evil treadmill of ours and he got a bit of attention. So did my waistline with the loss of 4 pounds. February has not proven so good for him but at least I've kept it off. With each degree change and extra minute of daylight I feel bikini season coming. Anyone else feel this pain? I could care less about the pounds but more about the lack of definition after having 2 kids. Not cool gravity, not cool.
#wifeproblems I have sucessfully convinced my husband to paint wall stripes behind our bed in gold. He might secretly hate me. Bedroom makeover reveal coming soon!

#shitsabouttogetreal Hadley is getting a big girl bed next weekend. Her teething pain and nightly screams have been ending in our bed and now she's not so satisfied with hers. I keep asking if she wants a bed like mommy and daddy and gives a solid nod 'yes'. I'm not so excited about this transition and fear it means she'll be up moving around at night but as it is she's sleeping with so many stuffed animals that she barely fits the crib herself.
#listingforsahm Husband just hit me with a work trip to Ohio this April. He's already going on a MBA trip to Budapest in June. Sure, leave me with two kids. I wont go flipping nuts or anything.
#autopilot When I started this year out, if someone had told me how much of my life was going to need mapping out I would have fainted. Can't I coast on autopilot for a bit? But really, I wouldn't have it any other way. Plans for buying a house. School districts for kids. Didn't I just have them? Big decisions coming but I'm up to the challenge. At least my car damage is fixed (post drunk driver mishap) and I've got two photo sessions this coming weekend to get me back in the photography game. January and February are clearly slow months in this business and I'm ready for something to give me purpose again, outside of my kids that is. If you can't tell, I've been putting that extra energy into little home renovation projects and design.
#theabbey In the past month, hubby and I have watched all 3 seasons of Downton Abbey. I'm beyond obsessed. Although not enough to request a Lady Mary makeover... And quite strange, Hadley has taken to calling me Ma-Ma like the British in the show. We don't exactly know what's spawned this but I am concerned that while we've been watching, she's been listening through the wall? Either way, hearing "No, Ma-Ma" is rather amusing. The first time anyway.
Enjoy your Sunday friends!
