Last Thursday night we took the boys to see Disney Live! At the new Kings Theater in Brooklyn. Now this theater has been closed for as long as I can remember–it was a movie theater long ago when I attended junior high down the block but has been closed for at least 15 plus years. It reopened a couple of months ago which is so exciting for me personally because it’s 20 minutes away from my house. We have the Barclay Center that is downtown Brooklyn but that is more like 40 minutes from my house.
The Disney Live show was comprised of Three Classic Fairytales. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast. The show was hosted by Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy.
I was just so excited–the kids were too but these story tales aren’t Frozen they are the original stories that I grew up on. The movies that I had watched hundreds of times growing up. I was surprised that the songs from the movies made their way from deep in my subconscious and I was singing right along with the characters!
My eldest was most enthralled by Snow White–he first question when he saw the queen was “Mommy is that Maleficient?!” I had to say yes but a different Maleficient because the one he knows is not nearly as mean and cruel as the original!
Out of the three stories the boys were most familiar with Beauty and The Beast. Because it’s mommy and daddy’s favorite movie they have seen it plenty of times. They sang along to “Be Our Guest” and so did we!
Have you seen @disneylive’s Three Classic Fairytales Yet? You will LOVE it! Here’s Why:

The show was about 90 minutes long and we had a great time. The show was the perfect length and the boys didn’t get antsy at all. The show was also extremely interactive where the characters would ask the audience to repeat after them or for their opinion. I might have bee screaming the loudest but there aren’t any witnesses so no one can prove it.
The Disney Live show is a perfect show for the little ones–you can get more info here.
*Tickets to the show were complimentary in exchange for the review
