Best Shoes for Fall (Brooklyn Blonde)

Todays posts is one of my favorites! I had such a fun opportunity to partner with DSW to style four key fall trends: New Western, Sneakers, Straps & Ties and Over the Knee boots. I wanted to showcase a version of a day in my life and the outfits I’d wear to each event or life activity.

Spending the day with Nate

Trend: Sneakers | Let’s be honest, as a new mom, it’s incredibly easy to lose yourself and end up in a boring outfit, day after day. Before Nate was born, I made a vow to myself to not let that happen. On some days, it might be hard to put on makeup and style my hair, but it takes the same amount of time to put on any type of outfit! On days when we leave the house, I like to challenge myself and put together an outfit that is comfortable, but that I still feel good in. With the sneaker trend, I wanted to offset the sportiness of these Adidas and pair them with a skirt. I actually love these so much that I just ordered them in grey!

Family Weekend

Trend: New Western | Once fall rolls around, I practically live in ankle booties, knits and leather jackets. It’s my favorite type of outfit to be comfortable in, but still look “cool and stylish.” Here, I’m wearing the Crown Vintage Lachlan Chelsea Boot in grey. Before I found these, I had a really hard time finding a bootie in a nice shade of grey. I love these! So comfortable and in person, look similar to some of my pairs that cost 5x as much.

Work Meetings & Events

Trend: Over the Knee Boots: Oh, how I love a good OTK boot and its ability to completely pull an outfit together. While I already own several pairs with a 3-4″ heel, this time around, I went with this pair, that has a slightly lower, block heel. This is the type of outfit that I wear for a full day of hopping between events and meetings. I feel put together but am also comfortable for an entire day of walking around.

Dinner & Drinks

Trend: Straps & Ties | One thing about me, I love any opportunity to put on heels. These days I might be wearing them a little less, but if I’m going out at night, especially to a party or nice dinner, you better believe that I’ll be wearing them.

My favorite type of combination for such an occasion: the juxtaposition between a pretty shoe, like these from the “Straps & Ties” trend, and a pair of distressed denim. I’ll top it off with a blazer on top and I’m good to go.
