Ikea Houseboat Docked in Copenhagen

It’s finally weekend, anything fun planned? Maybe a trip to Ikea? Not that I would call that fun myself. This week I actually made Ikea a visit, not in one of their traditional mega warehouses, where one’s soul is just slowly pulled out of you the further in you go, but at a pop-up showroom on a houseboat docked in the Copenhagen harbor. Ahoy!

The reason, Ikea wanted to show of all their new august news in a cool homey setting while celebrating that their new catalogue finally is out. For some reason they are printing slower in DK, as it seems like the rest of the world got their copies ages ago – okay, maybe just weeks, but I have a habit of exaggerating sometimes. If you haven’t seen it yet, go to your local Ikea site, you can flip through it online.

What I liked about the whole thing, was how they managed to make it look so not-Ikea, I would never have dreamed about wanting to live in an all-Ikea home, but I am obsessed. Obviously, the house boat setting got me on a high when crossing the bridge to the boat. Now that’s the dream. A houseboat. Anyway, as I was saying, I actually really liked it, and it was super cool to see some of my favorites mixing in, especially the dining table setting with the different chairs I really liked.

Okay, going to Ikea doesn’t seem that bad now. I definitely added a few things to my shopping list after this. Have a splendid Saturday.
