home | redecorating our study

abel armchair | patterned rug | copper baskets | walnut side table | cushion | vase | analogue clock | copper candlestick

our garden is finally finished do my decorating focus has gone back indoors! our front room is technically our dining room but as I predicted we haven't used our dining table more than a handful of times in the year and a half we've lived here (yes I'm 100% guilty of eating my dinner on the sofa...)

at the minute james has taken up one side of the room with his home office which looks great but the other half is a neglected dining space. it's all a bit confused and has no real function or identity so I've decided to designate it as a study. we're going to donate the tables and chairs and set up a reading area in their place. it's going to be a room where james can work and I curl up with a cup of tea and read.

I'm excitedly (and impatiently) waiting on our new habitat armchair to arrive so I've been looking at some other accessories to go with it. as my walls are white I like to add colour and texture with throws, cushions and patterned rugs. I love metallic pieces so I'm a big fan of these copper baskets and candlesticks. I adore the geometric detail on this walnut side table which would work well against the scandi grey of the armchair...

I love putting together ideas so I've been busy pinning on my home decor pinterest board to gather up some inspiration for styling the room. I can't wait to show you when it's finished! in the meantime I'm going to be busy convincing james we need a few more cushions (wish me luck.)

back soon
