Duty free haulage

Here are some questions that I ask myself when I am in an airport scenario:

* Why do I always feel so guilty at passport control?

* Why do people stand on the moving walkway and more often than not in the middle of it so nobody can pass?

* Why does it always feel like you are not spending real money when you go shopping in duty free?

The latter question always hits me after I tornado round the makeup section. I don't have any answer. All I know is that there is something absolutely delicious about hauling makeup in that environment.

I struck gold when I travelled on Thursday. I meandered past the MAC counter and spotted the new Huggable lipstick collection along with Magnetic Nude. And nothing was sold out.

So I hauled. And then walked away full of glee. These are the things that made me happy:

Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Fairly Precious and Superb

I tried to be good. I really did. I almost resisted using them until they were photographed but then I gave in. The imprint is lovely and the finish is also equally well appreciated. It's sheeny in all the right ways and the frosty factor is kept reasonably low.

Superb is a warm nude shade and Fairly Precious is described as a peach with pearl green. (Just to be clear I see no green. None. Niente) Honestly, they look fairly similar once applied but Fairly Precious has a teeny more of an iced peach glow about it.

Extra Dimension eyeshadow in Amorous Alloy and A Natural Flirt

First of all, I regret not getting Sweet Heat. What a gorgeous colour that is. I especially regret it because the consistency of these shadows is so smooth and silky.

Amorous Alloy was a must for me. For years I have been storing Glamour Check from the ancient Starflash collection, resisting usage because that warm deep copper brown is hard to replicate in other products.

But here we have a dupe and it's even more gorgeous than Glamour Check - warmer and more flattering. I wear it all over with A Natural Flirt as the inner corner colour.

A Natural Flirt would also make a great cheek highlighter. It's got that Vanilla pigment vibe - a pretty, warm pearl finish.

MAC Candy Yum Yum

This is a colour that I have stalked for months. It's a VIBRANT matte pink that calls for a confident wearer. Just looking at it in the bullet makes me smile.

I am a bit hesitant to say this but I think that the anticipation may have been better than the reality. I just haven't got to grips with it yet and feel like it makes my teeth yellow.

I do have Maybelline's Fuschia Flash and erm....dare I say it, I prefer this. It's a little lighter/brighter and the sheen of the finish is probably easier for me to carry off.

This is not case closed. After wanting Candy Yum Yum for such a long time I am not going to give up until I find the right way to wear it!

MAC Huggable in Love Beam

This is a limited edition formula but I hope MAC will bring this back as permanent. It's a lovely finish - like a Cremesheen but longer-lasting. Love Beam is bright mid-tone pink, kind of like a wimp's Candy Yum Yum. I think that's why I like it :)

I'll try and do a post where I am actually wearing these goods so you can get a better idea of what they actually look like on. So look forward to a gurning face post very soon :)

Hope you had a great Tuesday!
