#ootd and handbag love

Yesterday I wore a hat and I didn't feel like a plonker.

Hats may quite possibly be my new thing.

This is truth - when I walk into a shop I try on at least 1-2 hats, exclaim " I love hats", visualise myself wearing them and then walk away empty handed.

I know I have mentioned this before, but I feel like it's that one accessory that requires a little more self-confidence than what I typically possess on a daily basis.

a) It draws attention to your face and
b) It draws attention to you period. Look around. There aren't oodles of hat wearers bouncing around.

I found this one in Forever 21 and just thought "sod it". I love the colour, it isn't overly floppy and even if it serves only as a prop in my wardrobe at least it wasn't too expensive.

Well who would have thought - I actually ended up wearing it!

(I sound like such a friggin wimp and am actually shaking my head as I write this but it's the truth. This took guts so give me a bravery medal! :)

I did take it off when I was indoors (because I just felt too knobby inside with a wool hat on my bonce) but otherwise it was worn and very much loved. It hid sweat, grey hairs and a mardy pre-menstrual face. It's quite the must have and I shall be investing in more!

I never know how to end #ootd posts so I'll just pop in a picture of my new handbag that you can expect to see a lot more of in the near future.

This is the Sophie Hulme mini tote in Oat that I had previously mentioned in a "Spring Shopping" post way back in February. I love the colour of this bag and had tried it on in Harvey Nichols but experience has taught me that seasonal Sophie Hulme shades almost always go on sale and so I waited….

…and then I spotted it on the Boutique 1 website at half price! I am so excited to wear it. The leather is amazing quality and the shape is different to everything else I have.

Handbags will never fail to make me giddy! :)
