Upcycled Thrift Store Cupcake Stand

Make a DIY Upcycled Thrift Store Cupcake Stand! A post by contributor Bethany of The Southern Couture.

Cupcakes and thrift store shopping are two of my favorite things. Yes, that does seem sort of random, and you are probably thinking what do cupcakes and thrift stores even have to do with each other. I can’t wait to show you exactly what they have to do with each other.

A cupcake is such a sweet way to say happy birthday and so yummy to eat too. But when you display one on an adorable stand, the cute factor just goes out the roof.

What I particularly love about this upcycle project is that the supplies all came from the thrift store and cost me about $3.00! Can you even believe that?

So now you know exactly what the two have to do with each other. They’re a great combination like salt and pepper or peanut butter and jelly.

Since my brain is obviously stuck on food, let’s get started so you can make your own too.

All you need is a candle holder, saucer, E6000 glue, and of course some delicious cupcakes.

*I wanted the look of something glamouros which is why I chose the gold and brass style that matched the plate perfectly. The glass in the picture below is also just a glass I happen to find that works perfect to place over the cupcake.

Now all that’s left is to glue the top of the candle holder to the bottom of the plate with the E6000 glue. Let it dry completely or sit overnight for best results.

Your cupcake can now be displayed to celebrate someone special. And if you can’t think of a special occasion that is coming up soon, then it is never a bad thing to just have a cupcake for the fun of it.

Like I always say, enjoy the little things in life which always should include a scrumptious cupcake. I prefer red velvet. What is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
