CHA Paper Arts+ Blog Hop: Pop Up Stamped Bouquet Card

I've got a fun project for you today! Recently, I was invited to join 13 Craft and Hobby Association Designers in a blog hop to promote the upcoming CHA Paper Arts Show. It is an educational showcase and trade show taking place in July in Schaumburg, Illinois with tons of exhibitors all showing the latest in paper crafts plus jewelry and mixed media. Pink and Main will be exhibiting at the show and I was lucky enough to be asked to design a project using their delightful stamps. Be sure to read to the end of this post for details on how you can win a fabulous prize by hopping through all the 14 participating blogs this week!
First, I cut two pieces of Little B kraft chipboard down to 7 1/2" x 6" and taped them together with a Little B red polka dotted decorative tape. This formed the center fold / hinge for the card.

Then I cut a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of Little B kraft chipboard and folded it lengthwise. I made two cuts at the fold and pushed the chipboard to the other side and folded it to make a little step.

I made two more cuts at the fold along the top of the step and pushed that outward to make a second step. I then glued this piece of chipboard to the middle of the taped card. Cool, huh?! This is such a simple way to add a pop-up feature.

Then it was time for the stamping. This little vase stamp is from Pink and Main's Flower Bouquet clear stamp collection. I stamped it with black ink onto a sheet of thin blue cork. I cut out the stamped piece, glued it onto a piece of chipboard and then cut that out to make a bigger shape. I made two of these.

Then I used Pink and Main's Hearts collection to stamp lots of hearts onto plain and red sheets of thin cork. Hearts play a big part in my artwork so I was thrilled to use these wonderful designs!

Pink and Main's Flower Bouquet stamp set has lots of butterflies included so I used those too. I think I stamped and cut way more pieces than I needed but now I have lots of extras for other projects!

To make the stems for the hearts and butterflies, I took 20 gauge silver wire and cut pieces about 5" long. I made a loose spiral on each one and then taped the spirals to the back of the cork cut-outs. I made a few more spiral stems and then taped everything to the back of the one of the vase shapes. I also cut the second stamped vase in half and attached three larger wire spirals to the back.

Then it was time to assemble! I used a little glue and tape to attach the "half vase" to the smaller top pop-out step. Then I glued the larger stamped vase to the front pop-out step.

Once the pop-up part was done, I went crazy stamping and taping all over the inside of the card. To contrast with the busy interior, I decided to keep the front of the card pretty simple with just a bit of stamping. I love that little string of hearts!
That's a lot of love in the air!
