Couture Week: Armani Prive
Color seemed to float about the luxurious fabrics at Armani Prive this week in Paris. As described by Vanessa Friedman at The New York Times:
Starting with a (natch) shocking pink Lurex and chenille peplumed jacket over loose black velvet pants, he segued into an iridescent rainbow of jewel tones — emerald, sapphire, tourmaline, garnet, turquoise — set off against an onyx backdrop, and worked in a variety of bristling, sparkling, three-dimensional ways.
For those with their eye on beauty, the Armani Ecstasy Lacquer in Maharajah was the hit of the show. This hot pink lacquer is said in press accounts to release in September, although this shade as been on Armani Beauty’s site for a few months now.
According to Stylecaster, models’ skin was prepped with a combination of Armani Beauty’s Crema Nuda foundation based on their skin tone and then a touch of blush. Eyes were defined with a grey Smooth Silk Eye Pencil along the upper lash line and the brand’s famous eye tint in two different colors (unspecified), while brows were groomed and filled with a combination of products. I’m picking up some possible use of Armani’s Fluid Sheer as well.
