September Tunic: Perfect Pattern Parcel

September Tunic with vintage fabric by CailaMade.

It’s been a fun week, and one of my favorite parts was working with this beautiful fabric! What you see here is a vintage linen print that I found in an antique store in Cannon Beach, Oregon a few years ago. I’ve been waiting for the perfect chance to use it, and this Springtime version of the September Tunic was exactly that.

My kids are a little worn out from taking pictures lately, so I gave Abby a pass on this one. Instead, you’re getting pictures of the tunica against the wall in my sewing studio. But maybe I should have used a different colored wall?? Haha, as soon as I was editing these photos I realized that white-on-white was maybe not the right choice. Oh well, next week I’ll get some great pictures of Abby wearing it and then you can see it a bit better.

This pattern is by Too Sweets Patterns and I’ve really come to love it. It’s a quick sew, and perfect for any of you out there who want to learn how to sew girls clothes with sleeves and buttons but don’t want to get in over your head. The September Tunic is the perfect compromise because there are tasteful ruffles and a button down back, but you don’t have to set in the sleeves (it’s dolman style) and she gives you pretty free reign with the button placement. I don’t know about you, but I really don’t like transferring button placement marks from a pattern onto my fabric. It seems like an unnecessary step, since my ruler can do exactly the same thing. In this pattern she just explains how many button holes to make and how far apart to space them, and then you go from there. I work better with freedom anyway. If you’re like me, then this might be a great way to practice those button holes that have been scaring you off!

Right now you can get the September Tunic as part of the Perfect Pattern Parcel. This is a unique bundle of digital sewing patterns because you get to choose how much of your money goes toward the designers and how much toward a nonprofit organization that benefits underserved children and their education. You can get the patterns as low as $3 a pattern, or donate more if you choose. It’s really a great deal! There are five patterns included and bonus pattern for those who donate a certain amount:

Hanami Top or Dress by Straight Grain
Hosh Pants by LoubeeClothing
Celestial Tee by Figgy’s
September Tunic & Dress by Too Sweets Patterns
Caroline Party Dress by Mouse House Creations

BONUS pattern:
Prefontaine Shorts by Made With Moxie

It’s a great way to feed your sewing addiction and support children’s education. Not bad, huh? Each pattern parcel lasts only 2 weeks and as of today there are only 8 days left, so don’t delay. Head on over to their page to read more about it HERE.

Thanks so much for reading! Have an awesome day!
