Embracing Boho without the Festivals

The closest you'll get me to a festival now is if you put a guitar on a beach next to a bonfire. I went to a festival once –had a panic attack on the fields and realized it just wasn't for me. I'm also not a big party person so the whole concept sort of leaves me scratching my head. Regardless, I can still embrace this season's boho-feel in the little details, especially for beachwear. To me, the boho vibe is more of a jungle feel, like I just stepped out of a yoga palapa and ready to hike down to the water and swim near an untouched beach. It's that free spirit beach lifestyle with sandy hair and sun kissed skin that makes me the happiest.

I love fringe on a bikini top for its ability to enhance the bustline and for the extra playful movement it gives. I always go back to black swimsuits because they feel ultra slimming and classic. This is the type of outfit I dream of living in and have spent considerable amounts of time trying to convince my boyfriend to move us even further south to Mexico where we can buy a little hacienda and live off the land and the beach. For now, there's nothing wrong with a little practice. This includes turning everything into a beach cover-up and seeking out the best beaches that exist around New Orleans. Prime example is an oversized scarf that doubles as a sarong and rope shoes. Oh, the simplicity. I think I'm ready now.
