#LooksForLess: Shop For Less At Walmart

When Walmart Canada reached out and asked me to join #LooksForLess challenge inspired by their SpringSummer lookbook, I didn’t think it was possible.

How can you put together a look for $100? That sounded insane. My shoes cost many times more than that.

I have been living online. I order most of my purchases online. I headed to Walmart.ca and checked out their online selection. If you are on a budget, you must check out the clearance section. There are a lot of $3-$5 items. It is a great place to pick up some basics.

I heard Walmart is adding more inventory to eCommerce store soon. You also get free shipping when you buy over $50. This is great for a person who don’t have time to go to the store often like me.

However, the beach towel I wanted from the lookbook wasn’t available online. I dropped by the store to shop.

I was wrong. I got many of items for $98 including taxes.

I cheated. I didn’t create an outfit. Everything in that lookbook was so pretty, I bought items from a few different themes. Many dresses are pretty cheap, I could have created a minimum 2-3 outfits with $100. They also have a nice selection of bikinis. Who knew Walmart carries decent swimwear. They are fun and flirty.

Here are what I bought:

  • 2 pair of reversible sport bras – $12 x2. These are pretty comfortable. I love that they are reversible. However, they run small. If you buy them, buy a size bigger.
  • 1 pair of sport short – $12. This is a great basic sport wear. It goes perfectly with the sport bra.
  • 1 box of George sheer panty hose – $5. This is one of my favorite purchases. They offered a selection of neutral color socks and panty hoses. There are 5-10 pairs in a box depend on the style you pick. For the price, it is hard to go wrong. I am thinking to go back and stock up. It is a cheap and good basic purchase.
  • 1 beach towel. – $7. I came to buy the $10 beach towel from the lookbook and found this flamingo towel right next to it. It was only $7. Green flamingo = sold
  • 1 Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Polish. This nail polish was extremely cheap. I love the color. It is prefect for the beach theme.
  • 1 black and white flip flops – $6. These are prefect for the beach. The color is classic and they go with everything.
  • 1 navy stripe shoes. This is a great pair of summer shoes. They are fun and timeless at the same time. The pair was only $15
  • 1. Black George flats – $15. This is my favorite purchase. I don’t usually wear cheap shoes. My last pair of flats was Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Suede Cube-Heel Bow Pump. They cost around $580 before tax. I didn’t think a pair of flats that costed me 38.6 times less would make the cut. But I needed a new pair of flats. Surprisely these George flats are extremely comfortable. It looks pretty expensive compare to the $15 price tag. I had a few people who privately messaged me on Facebook and Twitter asking where I got them. If you want to get these, you should drop by a Walmart as soon as possible. My cashier decided to pick up a pair after she saw mine. They will go fast. I have been wearing them everyday since I bought them.

I found some great steals from Walmart Canada. I love their beach items. Check out their Spring/Summer Lookbook for some inspiration.
