The Great Hypnotist (2014) (English)

A psychiatrist gets a new patient, the patient that is a woman says that she can see ghosts. But of course the psychiatrist doesn’t believe her, and he digs deep in her past and maybe he will find the answer that can help this patient. Or is she telling the truth?

In the beginning of the film it seems that The Great Hypnotist is just another thriller film, but this is not a straight thriller film at all. This is a drama film where the patient has suffered a great loss, and the psychiatrist tries to find out what she is hiding. And with that this becomes a drama and mystery film.

I really like the beginning of the film, the story is nothing new with the woman who says that she can see ghosts. My problem with The Great Hypnotist is that I felt a little bit cheated because I thought that this was a thriller film, but as I said in the earlier paragraph, this is a drama film that doesn’t have much new to offer us.

The Great Hypnotist has a twist that I saw miles away. It isn’t that hard to see what is going on with the story, but it was entertaining when the twist was revealed and explained. At that point the film is solid.

For the most part The Great Hypnotist is an entertaining film with a twist that is easy to predict, and the running time is just about perfect and the two leading actors are good in their roles. This is a film worth a watch.
