Jane Iredale Cosmetics Review || and how to use Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain

Oh hey guys, today I got a nice long post about a pretty cool product, but mostly just a bunch pictures of my face. That's what you come here for anyway, isn't it?
But my face is pretty much relevant to this post and cool product, so its okay. I think.

As you know by now, I am on the hunt for really great, gluten free products of all kinds. After years of not really paying too much attention to what was going on the outside of my body, I threw away all my cosmetic products and started over.
I was always cautious of what I put on my lips, and washing my hands after using hair products. But beyond that, I didn't really think too much about it. Which is silly, seeing how paranoidly aware I am of all the things that go into my body. But here we are anyway, working this all out together. Like true internet friends that have never met in real life.
I am also a member of that percentage of people that actually enjoys doing my hair and putting makeup on in the morning. You wouldn't be able to tell that by looking at me today, as I have not put any effort whatsoever into my appearance, but chances are I will probably end up with some sort of smoky eye experiment on my face ten minutes before I go to bed. I get bored sometimes, okay.

Let me introduce you to Jane Iredale cosmetics. A company that makes high quality gluten free, vegan and cruelty free cosmetics*, that are also pretty and functional. All of their products are made from quality ingredients that are also good for your skin. No harsh, weird ingredients that you have to Google to even understand.
Today, I am going to give you the low down on the new Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain. One product in a fancy little tube, that acts as both a moisturizing lip color and a creamy cheek stain.
Lip stains are my favorite thing ever, and also one of the hardest to find in the gluten free cosmetics world, apparently. While you could go into a drug store and find a handful of stains, they most likely contain gluten (or the company can't actually tell you whether they do or not...) and of all product labels to check, lip items are definitely the most important, for pretty obvious reasons I think. Stains, if you don't already know are items that do just that, stain a color onto your lip or cheek. They are nice, because you don't have to worry about smudging or smearing. They stay put. Which if you ever went out and about in a fierce red lip, only to end up with red smudges all over everything you own, you'll understand the importance of this.

To make this two for one product even more magical, it has actual magic powers. It goes on with just a slight coral tint, then changes color based off of your own skin chemistry.
That basically takes all of the shade guesswork out of it, and leaves you with the absolute perfect color cheek and lip for your skin tone. It's also makes it universally flattering. So you, with that beautifully tan skin can use it just as well as me with the skin color of a vampire.
I told you it was cool. It also smells really nice, which is really the most important thing. Right?

To get a just kissed cheek stain, you will apply it before any other makeup so that it can go directly on your cheeks.
So here is how you use this majestical item on your cheek, in a fancy step by step diagram, because I'm nice like that.

Don't worry if it appears too dark at first, remember you still haven't put the rest of your face on yet.
After you apply to your cheeks, let it set for a minute until it dries. I like to then coat them with a layer of face powder, so that it doesn't smear when I put on my liquid foundation.
Here is how I apply my makeup, because I am feeling extra generous and photoshoppy today.

Apply a primer, then foundation to even your skin tone. Be soft with the application on your cheeks, so you don't rub the color all over your face and look like a tomato. Next, use your liquid concealer under your eyes, around your mouth and on your nose to act as a highlighter. Then make your best pucker face, and brush bronzer in the hollows of your cheek, and lightly around the edge of your face and nose. Blend all that in with your fancy makeup brushes, and tada! you got a face. Also let's just point out, that in the right picture I have not yet blended in my concealer, but because my skin is so incredibly pasty you cannot even tell. Literally the lightest color concealer as they come.
I also need to find a bronzer that doesn't look so orange on my skin, maybe the Jane Iredale quad bronzer would do the trick?
I actually feel like these photos are making me look tanner then I actually am. Is that one of this stain's magical powers as well?

Next put on your lip, and watch in awe as it changes colors right before your eyes.
Kind of like when that whole "is the dress blueandblack, or whiteandgold" thing was happening and I saw it change from from white to blue before my very eyes. I still don't trust anything I think I see.

So there you have it! If the mysterious color changing powers don't do enough to convince you to get this product, then how about that metallic packaging? Silver, gold, and rose gold make it extra chic.
I already have my eyes on a number of other products, like the liquid eyeshadow, cream highlighter, and every one of their concealer, primer and foundations options.
When does a makeup addiction become a problem? Because I think I might be getting there you guys, and I'm not worried about it in the slightest.
