Lily Jade Giveaway.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mama.
My babies are one of the things that have given me life. They make me want to be better, they make me want to grow and soar and be the best version of myself. They make me want to be brave. Being a mother is one of the things that has made me the most real. Feel the most intensely in my life. Cry the hardest and face myself in the most intense way possible. It has shown me love in a way that I desperately hoped was real. An innocent, pure, unconditional love. In the purest most beautiful form.

The intensity of which I love my kiddos can almost be overwhelming in moments, like the fear of allowing someone/ something outside of yourself to carry your heart at such a magnitude. I love them so much. The crazy thing, in my head I always thought it would get easier as they got older. Easier to have open hands with them, easier to not worry so much, easier to let go. But for me the struggle, at times, has intensified. The sweet conversations that are had concrete and seal so tight the intensity. The teary goodbyes, the pouring out of one's heart....it's literally the most beautiful thing I have ever been a part of.

Growing up I always felt this way about my baby brother. I can remember laying awake at night, at such a young age, just worrying about him....begging God to protect him and let me take his burdens on for him. Looking back, it's crazy that I already had these feelings as a child towards loving someone else....I was a little mama.

I love how each of ours are so different yet share that common thread. Each night I walk down our halls as the floors squeak with each passing step and I stand in awe that they are mine. The gratitude is never ceasing.

Our own childhoods shape us, people forever impact us and pour into us and love us. Whether it's our mamas or daddies, our grandmas or aunties. Maybe it's a best friend. People that rise up and do the late night feedings, the teeball practices or the 15th bedtime story. It's the sweet conversations about life and how we love others, how we view the world. The examples we set on how to be. How we love big and show kindness, how we let our babies grow up to be who they were made to be. How we help them get there. The late night dance parties, the family dinners, the bedtime prayers. The hard conversations and the pain of letting go a little bit along the way.

At the end of my life....people aren't going to care how many followers I had or how successful I was or wasn't. They aren't going to care about all the surface stuff.
But how I poured into my kiddos will matter. How they were loved. How they saw me live out my life and where my priorities were placed.
