The Dress I Wore To My 21st

After a busy weekend of socialising and nursing a cold, my voice finally made a prodigal return for VAMFF, just in time for the Business Seminar. The speakers were so inspiring, especially James Curleigh, President and Executive Vice-President of LEVI’s who sung his way into his presentation, illustrated business strategies using the basic principles of Physics, and then continued to turn our thinking upside down with his life-changing advice. Maybe that’s what happens when a Canadian visits Down Under?

Using LEVI’s as the perfect example of transformation and re-invigoration, he challenged us to redefine our businesses by asking the following questions: What if you can be both iconic and innovative? Accessible and aspirational? Simple and sophisticated? Expected and unexpected? Have profits and principles? Why not be both? Why not be the instrument of change in your business and create the global shift in your brand perception? Some food for thought there for us all!

I didn’t get a photo of my day outfit (#firstworldproblem), but here is the vintage dress I wore to my 21st many moons ago that I brought out for another whirl for VAMFF last night. If it wasn’t vintage back then, it sure is now! To be honest, I didn’t expect to be able to fit into it after motherhood. But there you have it, a timely example of something simple and sophisticated, expected and unexpected!

Wishing you a happy hump day. I better make a dash for more VAMFF festivities! Follow my tweets from the Fashion Forums today at @Cecyliadotcom!
