FOTD | Weekend Basics

Depending on my mood, I either go all out on the weekends or just stick to the basics. This weekend, I kept things simple as I was just dropping by the mall to do a return and pick up some things I had my eyes on for a while. Nothing special.
A flawless base is always a must for me. I admit my skin is an insecurity of mine but hey, I'm working on it. The Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation makes it easy for me to achieve that flawless base without looking like I've had the life sucked out of me. I wear the shade light-medium sand and I'm an NC30 in MAC. Here I have just swiped on a pea-sized amount of product all over the face with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and as you can see, it gives incredible coverage as I assure you I have some pesky scars and spots hiding underneath. To add a little life back into the complexion I dusted a bit of, you guessed it, the NARS Sin blush on the cheeks.
A little mascara was all I felt like wearing so I tried out the Buxom Full & Fabulous mascara, a new addition to my everyday makeup line-up. I scooped up a sample of it a while back and finally gave it a try. I only used one coat of it and it gave decent volume and length. Of course, I popped a little bit of the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara on as well for some extra definition.
On the lips I just put a little Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm on to protect my lips from the winter air. It leaves a bit of a matte finish to the lips which I quite like!
