Latte and Laptops: Berry

Combining business and pleasure definitely saves up time, plus it allows you to see your bestie for a coffee date on a work day. At CHAPTER FRIDAY, we have made it a little tradition to sometimes bring the office out of office. So far, several coffee bars in this bubbly city have been our work space for a few hours.

This time, we stumbled upon an absolute winner when it comes to personality and charm! Let’s have a look…

Name: Berry

1. What’s the atmosphere like?
If you are looking for a place that makes you feel completely zen, you’ve come to the right address. The atmosphere is welcoming, warm and gives off a homely, living room feel.

The interior is minimal, pastel colored and reminds us of school in a way… it myst be those wooden chairs. A big plus goes to the book shelf on which you’ll find books and magazines to borrow, swap or read on the spot.

2 . How is the coffee?
At Berry, coffee is roasted by Two For Joy. It is a very easy-to-drink type, which tastes perfectly in the style of a cappuccino or a latte. Besides that, Berry is quite well-known for it’s homemade juices. Also, it’s a challenge to resist the smell of homemade banana bread (sugarfree, yay!). A dose of caffeine, vitamins and sweets is all you need get the creative juices flowing.

3. Could you actually get work done here?
If you have your research material, drafts and notebooks with you: yes, for sure! However be aware that there is no WiFi. That is a great way to get going, in case you know exactly what to do and mainly need to write and read. The calm vibe and chill music will boost your creativity and productivity.

4. So… where is Berry located?
Bilderdijkkade 27, 1053 VH Amsterdam, next to De Hallen. Again, it seems like the Kinkerbuurt is truly upcoming.
