chartreuse and a twist

a mini-BIG wedding to remember

hello lovelies! it has be a while... a long, long while. i thought i would check in & let you all know that i am still alive. summer is swallowing me whole so far...lots of travels and crazy schedules, but i am still alive :)
some of you may recall that i had a dream opportunity back in april to completely style out and plan two of my best friends' wedding & that i promised to share photos once i got my hands on them. well, my friends, the photos are in!!! let's get straight to them & then i will share more about this amazing, gorgeous event at the end. (disclaimer: you are about to feast your eyes on a gazillion pretty pictures...so hard to edit!!!)
THE CEREMONY
Angie, the beautiful Bride: fitness queen extraordinaire
James, the stylish Groom: mr. GQ himself (a ring a ding ding)
sneaking behind the tree to hide until taking her leap down the aisle
Angie's brother & sis-in-law performed Great Expectations by Elbow just before she walked down the aisle. WOW! they were incredible!!
favorite detail: they were married upon the "magic carpet", the very same carpet that they shared their first date on - James took her on a picnic and instead of a blanket, he brought this carpet in lieu of a blanket.
cute, or what?!
(excuse all of the wind-blowness...it was a windy one!!)

does it get any more magical than being married on the cliff of heaven on earth? truly.

so much love and happiness was in the air...it was a joyous day!!!
meet the crew: James & Angie wanted an intimate, no fuss affair. They each had their best person (along with their partner/spouse) & her brother & sis-in-law. Even the photographer & videographer were friends of James.

THE RECEPTION
the venue and the occasion set the tone for the most incredible dinner party. EVER. working with Angie and her vision was a piece of cake! she provided me with a few details, like color & flowers, & then instilled her faith in me to bring it to life. i am so thankful for that and had the most incredible time pulling this all together! i was in my happiest place :)

THE MEAL

Angie & James scored the most incredible chef in Big Sur, I swear. Dory has a true passion for what he does. He is an artist of food. When he landed on site, he meandered around, picking fresh herbs he found on the property and seaweed from down below.
We enjoyed a VERY SPECIAL 7 course meal prepared by Dory,
all paired with the gazillion glasses of wine (as seen above!)
closing the dinner out with some more live music performances. just love this shot. love it.

All in all, this day was just incredibly AMAZING.
The love that was felt was HUGE.
The setting was intimate, but on a grand scale.
I feel so special to have not only be there to witness this event,
but also to be able to plan, coordinate & design the whole thing!
...and did I mention...all within 4 weeks??!!
yep, James & Angie originally planned on a year and a half engagement,
but true to their nature, they just could not wait!
I could not be happier for them :)
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
