Explain your personal style. I mostly wear what works for my body and experiment a lot of new ideas on my body.

Who are your style icons? I really envy Lupita Nyong'o and Folake Huntoon.

Have you ever struggled with self-identity issues because of your complexion? If so what are some things you did to accept yourself for who you are and love yourself?
While growing up playing with other children, who were mostly light skinned, they used to tell me that I look like charcoal. I used to cry everyday. When I went high school I felt more beautiful because everyone I met on the road told me to be a model because I am tall and skinny. I worked hard in school which threatened people away and they could not say anything bad to put me down because my brain was my weapon.

Do you have any advice for other dark-skinned women that are struggling with accepting themselves because of the color of their skin?
My advice is you should know that you are fabulous and unique. Let no one say you are not. Learn to appreciate yourself first before others do.

What do you like most about being dark-skinned?
What I like most about my dark skin is it is so hard for one to notice blemishes on my skin and I look good in bright colors.
Girlllllll you skin is gorgeous!!! Thank you so much Lorna for participating in the series. Don't forget to check out Lorna's blog, Lorna Okeyo, check out her instagram: Lornaokeyo and "like" her Facebook fan page: Lorna Okeyo.
