Wilonda Previlon Everybody meet Wilonda! She's a 20 year old Dental Hygiene student from Orlando, FL!

Describe yourself in three words. Confident, Ambitious, God-Fearing.

Explain your personal style. My personal style would have to be simple, but bold (I know, kind of a oxymoron). I love bold patterns and colors.

Who are your style icons? My style icons would have to be less mainstream and more local fashion bloggers. I love the authenticity and creativity they produce.

Have you ever struggled with self-identity issues because of your complexion? If so what are some things you did to accept yourself for who you are and love yourself? I struggled with self-identity big time back in middle school and most of my high school years. I was always picked on for my complexion. They would call me names and laugh at me. It got so bad, there was a point I wanted to even use skin lightening creams to brighten my complexion...YES IN MIDDLE SCHOOL! What made me start accepting myself would honestly be because of my family and older church members who spoke kind words into me. They would always tell me how beautiful I was and encouraged me not to let the cruel words of the kids at school to get to me. So, I started to ignore their comments and laugh with the bullies instead of showing them my disappointments. As a result, I slowly began not to even care about their remarks.

Do you have any advice for other dark-skinned women that are struggling with accepting themselves because of the color of their skin?
YES, my advice would be to take a GOOD, LONG look in the mirror and tell yourself that God created a unique individual, someone who cannot be replicated. Don't conform to society, allow society to conform to you :) . So, flaunt your skin! The harder it is to find a makeup foundation that matches your skin color, the rarer you are!

What do you like most about being dark-skinned? The list can go on. Lol....But, what I love most is how rich and smooth my complexion can be...even without makeup.
