Craft Room Makeover

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again. You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for your wonderful response to my Sophie scarf, I'm so happy that you like her and I'm so appreciative of all your wonderful comments and such kind support in buying the pattern too. I'm over the moon about it, I really am.
I'm happy today too because I finally get to write this post, which feels like it has been an awful long time coming.
You might remember that it was way back in November when I first started talking about a few little changes I had in mind for my crafty little space, after I'd managed to claim the whole of this tiny room for myself. And I've been working away on it ever since. The major jobs were done last year, but I've been holding off showing you until the last parts were in place. Or the last of the large parts anyway, I have a few more plans for some finishing touches here and there.
It seems that my original plan of a few tweeks turned into a bit of a major event. Painting and furniture moving became involved and then, before I knew it, I was in Ikea choosing a new desk. How did that happen? Still, let us begin at the beginning and I'll show you some of the mayhem that my sudden bright idea caused. You can also see some pictures of the craft room before in this old post, if you like.
First of all, pretty much everything had to be moved out of the room, so I had crafty bits and pieces stashed in every other room of the house. That was so that the painting and furniture moving could get underway.

Then of course, the new desk had to be put together. You can see the very necessary coffee on hand to assist me while I work. Oh and I managed to pick up a new lamp while I was there too. It just popped into the trolley, you know how it is.
I also painted my chair, rearranged all the shelves and made a little lamp cozy while I was at it. A busy bee indeed. So would you like to see the new, improved craft room? I thought you might....

Can you see that notice board hanging above my desk? That's the reason this post has taken so long to appear. I wanted a little place to pin useful and pretty little bits and pieces but notice boards, as a rule, are ugly old things so I needed something much nicer.

This one I made using a huge picture frame that I found in Matalan a couple of weeks ago, and then a plain boring notice board, which I covered in fabric and put into the frame instead. Hey presto, a pretty notice board. Once that was done it felt like the last piece of the jigsaw was in place and I could share it with you.

Now I just need to go and have fun making a crafty old mess in there!
