What Why Where: Lips On Lips

I’ve never been all that into Valentine’s Day, which is why I rarely write about it here on CCF. But with a sudden increase in lip-themed things showing up in my wardrobe, I thought it would be perfect timing for a little something like this…

When you think of Valentine’s Day haters, they’re usually single and bitter about it. I’m neither of those things (fine, maybe a little bitter) but I would rather celebrate an anniversary than feel forced to partake in a tacky celebration that just so happens to fall on February 14. You feel me?

WHAT (am I wearing):
Sweatshirt: American Retro. Pants: RtA. Coat: Topshop. Shoes: Stella McCartney. Bag: Charlotte Olympia.

WHY (am I wearing it):
Valentine’s Day style doesn’t have to be about red dresses and pink shoes…it can also be about leather pants (which most occasions in my life revolve around anyway). After realizing I now have a lip print sweatshirt AND a handbag in the shape of those same lips (a gift from the bf…who knows I love my quirky clutches), how can I not put them together for a post like this? It simply had to happen. And of course, pairing it all down with my go-to’s — an oversized coat, leather pants (finally, a new pair though…thanks to a recent trip to THE Elyse Walker) and those damn Stella brogues that are not going away any time soon (sorry, but I’m really not sorry). That’s my idea of a Valentine’s Day look. That…and this.
