Sunday Stash Shopping #39: Bobbi Brown Cheeks

There’s a cheek combo I’ve been really enjoying lately. It’s fun and bright, and I think it’s definitely very Spring appropriate. For me though, it’s not about Spring. I just love this bright flush on the cheeks and when paired with fuller straighter brows, gives a more youthful look. Here are the stars of the show – My cream blush crush in Calypso Coral (old packaging) and this Brightening Brick in Pink. Good news is, Bobbi Brown is bringing this brightening brick back, making it permanent. There are also a few other shades to accompany Pink and I got my eye on Coral and Cranberry….and maybe all the rest. They will be launched in February, so if you’re interested, hop on to a Bobbi Brown counter near you. They will be RM175 each. If you want to see me wear this brick as a highlighter, click here.

On my face, I use my Bobbi Brown BB Cream as a base before concealing my dark circles. I have been enjoying the RMS ‘un’cover up for this purpose. The combo of the BB Cream and the ‘un’cover up just makes my face look very natural. Before I powder my face, I apply Calypso Coral on my cheeks for that bright flush. Then, I powder my face with this Dior powder (which I want to use up). Using Brightening Brick in Pink, I top it on the apples of my cheeks for that extra flush. This combination of pink and coral makes my cheeks pop. I love that I can only use the top row of the Brightening Brick for sheer highlight, or swirl my brush all over the pan for more pigmentation as blush. The fine shimmers do show up on my cheeks, but instead of appearing glittery, it just makes me glow. ALL LOVE for this brick. Their Shimmer Bricks make me cower in fear (so much bling!) but this is just nice for my taste. Now do you know why I want all of them?

For my brows, I fill it in using my Shu Uemura H9 pencil, drawing it with the least amount of arch as possible. My brows are naturally arched, so it’s pretty fake if I drew a horizontal line across it. So, as you can see in the photo below, that’s the best I could do. I also used Clinique’s latest brow product to darken the tail of my brows. More on that at a later review. On my eyes, I skipped any eye shadows, and just opted for a brown gel liner (shown here is MAC Dipdown which I bought a few years ago. Still good though) and mascara. On my lips is NARS Audacious in Anita. My lip swatch of Anita on Instagram was very popular by the way. So I’m not the only one who loves this shade.

Here’s the complete look.

I’ve been loving this fresh combo. The brighter lighter colours and dewy (but not oily) complexion make me look less tired and maybe a little younger. Do you like it?

xoxo Lily
