Chronic Cockney

December Glossybox: The Rose Gold Edit

To say that my December Glossybox arrived just as I was leaving for my Botox appointment makes my life sound soooo much more glamorous than it is. Nonetheless, it’s true. I was off to my 3 monthly Botox treatment for Chronic Migraine and not looking forward to it at all, as usual; the 30 injections into scalp/neck/forehead/temples are really quite painful for me at the moment. So it was nice to have a treat waiting for me when I got home.

The box itself is very pretty and festive this month, without a snowman or Santa in sight. I’m always a fan of the special boxes but I particularly like this one; sooooo pretty & perfect for the glowy theme this month.

This month’s box is the Rose Gold Edit produced in collaboration with blogger Really Ree.There are six products rather than the usual five with a combined value of over £50; Glossybox is always good value for money.

The etre belle Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll-On is an eye product aimed at making you look more fresh & awake by soothing & hydrating the delicate skin around the eye. My tiredness from illness tends to show under my eyes so I’m looking forward to trying this; it will be a handy product for people to use over the festive season when we’re all guilty of burning the candle at both ends sometimes.

The So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil is not a product I’d pick out for myself but now I have it I’ll definitely play with it – that’s what I love about Glossybox! I usually choose silvery/pale shimmery pink highlighters but I’ll happily get my gold on & see how it turns out.

A product that I definitely would have chosen for myself is the Collection Long Lasting Nail Effects polish. I love all things purple, especially nail polish & you can’t go wrong with a little glitter at this time of the year! Some bloggers don’t like receiving cheaper ‘drugstore’ products in their boxes. I don’t mind at all – I can afford to replace the product when it runs out or snap up different shades ?. Keep an eye out for an individual review of this product soon.

Speaking of drugstore gems, the next product is an Essence Liquid Lipstick in Show Off. I’m a HUGE Essence fan since I fell in love with one of their polishes that came in my Glossybox back in June. This shade is ideal for the party season & in my opinion the shade of red is on the bright side but should suit a range of skin tones.

A product I’ll definitely trial is Hylamide Pore Delete. Apparently it can be used as the last step of your skincare routine if you’re going foundation free or after liquid foundation but before powder. If it performs the mattifying & blurring magic it claims to I’ll be delighted! My pores are not my friends so I’m always keen to try out products to help calm or blur them.

I’m excited about this final product too – StarSkin Calming Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Facial Mask. This mask seems to suit my skin type perfectly and I’ve seen some great reviews but it’s not cheap so I’m pleased to be able to try it out before buying separately. I fight an ongoing battle with my shiny t-zone so if this helps I’ll happily invest in a supply of these masks!

I’m really pleased with my box this month, in fact it’s my favourite since the French Edit back in July. The skincare items are all suitable for my skin type and with a nail polish & a lip product included too, the mixture of product types is great. Well done Glossybox & Really Ree ??

Did you get a Glossybox this month? What did you think?

Wishing you good luck & happy days,

Kindra x
