Home Office Quick Refresh and Simple Pretty Cocktail

Are you sad to see Summer go? I love the longer daylight hours. But at least, here in San Francisco, the weather actually gets better in Fall! Less fog and more sunshine. This time of year starts to get busier for everyone. Buying a couple of things motivated me to organize, clean and create a Home Office Quick Refresh! It may work for you.

Home Office Quick Refresh

Everything in the office was already built-in (I think using IKEA products) when we moved into our 1920’s SF rental apartment. We just painted the walls Benjamin Moore White Dove and added things like the bulletin boards and Roman shade. It’s so small, it needs to be efficient.

New Rug Adds Warmth and Texture

Recently, I went to the Serena and Lily outlet in Berkeley, CA (I think its the only one in the country–they sell returns). You never know what will be there but if you like it, buy it as it will be gone in minutes. While there I found the perfect runner (above) to add softness and cover up the linoleum ? flooring. The rug comes in different sizes and the denim makes it feel timeless. I like that it’s thicker as the floor gets cold in here.

Desk Lamp

The new brass/iron desk lamp feels fresh, takes up little space and provides bright task lighting. A striped tray from McGee and Co. was added. I also glued some leftover grasscloth wallpaper on the desk blotter to give it a new look!

Organized Baskets

These baskets from IKEA and The Container Store aren’t new but I was inspired to edit and return fabric samples.

New Calendar

I love the graphics on this 17-month calendar with a clipboard.

I put the individual pages on my PB bulletin board. So great to see several months at a glance.

Colorful Art

Here’s an antique French travel poster that reminds me of our time living in Paris.

That French basket on the floor holds house plans and fabric samples that need to be returned. And that’s my little Home Office Quick Refresh!

Last Saturday at the Eat Drink SF festival, I had a delicious and simple cocktail that I think would be fun for a party.

Rosé Lillet Spritz

Lillet, the French aperitif made with Bordeaux grapes, has a mellow, slightly floral flavor. To Make: Pour about 2 ounces of Rosé Lillet over ice, add a spritz of tonic or soda water and garnished with a berry, cucumber slice and mint leaf. I think I’ll make it this Labor Day weekend and serve it in Champagne glasses.

Here I am feeling fine after one of those cocktails ? Are you tired of seeing me in this J. Crew dress (that I paid full price for)? Well, it’s super cheap now (like $30), so buy it for next summer! It comes in regular, petite, and tall (I’m wearing a petite medium). You can get the links under the tab Shop My Instagram.

I hope you have a happy day!
