Easy in the east village.

Everyone goes crazy for the East Village. Well, I hate to go all negative Nancy on you, but I wasn’t feeling it. It’s a great place for bars and hip restaurants if that’s what you’re into, but it’s quite loud and doesn’t feel as safe. I was running around the area looking for a store that could sell me a bottle of water, and every convenience store had a “$10 minimum purchase” rule if you only had a credit card. Um, so what the hell was I to do? Buy 10 water bottles? I mean I could have… but like, no. So I just died of thirst until I met up with my Skype ladies for dinner.
On this last day in NYC I shot with the lovely Federica, who I met last NYFW in the midst of snowstorms and multiple sufferings of the flu (blame Balenciaga cut-out boots). You know what falls into cut outs? Snow. And you know what snow in boots mean? Illness.
This time we were dealing with a polar opposite- it was blazing hot so I finally got to wear my new Alexis romper that I found on one of my favourite department stores, Neiman Marcus. I remember when I was graduating High School and looking for a prom dress, I would practically live on the Neiman Marcus “dress” section, dreaming of all the embellished and sequinned dresses. This collaboration is the gift that keeps on giving, because I swear I got complimented on the romper on every block. I had people literally stare at me as I walked past them, and then had them chase me down and ask me where I got my romper. Maybe it’s the romper, maybe New Yorkers are just the nicest people ever, maybe they just get me? I don’t know- but either way I’m dying for NYFW to come faster so I can come back “home”.
