Save Water, Drink Wine

Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything goes haywire? It’s been one of those weeks here for sure! It started on Monday when my daughter decided to cut her hair at school.

That was followed by a parent/teacher conference for testing our boundaries with our new teacher, then with a phone call that she had fell and scraped her face up pretty bad, followed by a stomach bug getting my oldest for 24 hours, delays at work due to other people’s emergencies, and planning for Black Friday madness at work. Oh, and I have to get all the laundry done today so that I can pack tonight for a trip.

I’ve felt like crying on more than one occasion this week; but I saved the tears and drank wine instead!

Now that both kids are back in school today and (so far) there have been no more accidents, I’m going to treat myself to a wine tasting tonight…..

…and you’re invited!!

Amista Vineyards, Frick Winery, and F. Teldeschi Winery have teamed up for a live Ustream (and Twitter) virtual wine tasting. These wineries all make up the Dry Creek Valley Wineries and I’m super excited to be one of the lucky bloggers joining them for the virtual tasting TONIGHT (11/6/14).

I have 3 bottles of wine (thanks to the wonderful wineries) ready for tonight and I’m down to only one clean wine glass (the others have been shattered in wine glass accidents over the year, guess what I’m asking for this Christmas). I’ll be tasting the 2006 Terraluna, Estate Reserve, Dry Creek Valley Red Wine by Teldeschi Winery, 2010 Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley Red Wine by Frick Winery, and the 2012 Sonoma Couty Tres Morningsong Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley Red Wine by Amista Winery.

The tasting starts at 5pm PST (8pm EST) and you can follow along on Twitter also. Just follow @DryCreekValley and the #DCVRedBlends hashtag. Oh, and be sure to follow @TheEcoChic to hear my thoughts on the wines.

Just don’t judge me for my lack of wine knowledge! I am in no way a wine connoisseur and will probably be drinking my wine all wrong according to the “experts!” To me, I enjoy my wine chilled and with chocolate. Maybe I’ll get some fancy cheese and pretend to know what I’m doing.

Disclosure: The 3 Wineries were nice enough to send me a bottle of each of the wines for the tasting. No other compensation was received and my opinions are clearly my own.
