Techie Gift Gear Ideas

If you are anything like me, this is the week you scramble trying to find just the right gift for everyone on your list. I do most of my shopping online so this is THE week to get stuff ordered so it will arrive in time. Here are just a few of my favorite techie finds this year that may or may not be found under the tree on Christmas morning.

Powerslayer by Velvetwire:

Can you ever have too many iPhone chargers laying around? In a house full of techies we’re always fighting over the cords and you can never find them all when you need them. With my old iPhone 5, I would constantly need to charge it because the battery was shot. With the Powerslayer you eliminate wasted power because it automatically turns itself off once your device is fully charged. Once my phone reached about 90-95% the Powerslayer would shut off; you could tell when the LED indicator on the front shut off. The Powerslayer comes with a very long braided USB cable and a felt and leather travel case. I loved this little charger until I got my iPhone 6 and my Lifeproof case….now the lightning pin no longer fits when the phone is in the case. It comes with either Apple or Android cables for charging. Cost: $79.00

GreenSmart Vaquita Mini Bag:

My son has a small laptop at school this year but they didn’t provide a carrying case. I don’t trust the safety of the laptop in his backpack and he was really excited when he got his own case for school. The Vaquita will hold either a 7″ or 10″ tablet or small laptop (like a Chromebook) and even has a small compartment for your cell phone. I love borrowing the bag when we go on short trips and I need to take my tablet with me. GreenSmart bags are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. The smaller mini bags like this one start at $39.95.

Armpocket:

My husband and I just upgraded to the iPhone 6 which means his old armband will no longer work for the gym. The Armpocket is made from recycled plastic fibers and natural bamboo rayon. It has a comfortable memory foam back and a zippered case for the phone, credit cards, keys, or other small items. If you keep a case on your phone, you may want to go from the Xtreme i-30 to the Mega i-40. Available in a variety of sizes for Apple and Android devices. We’ll see what hubby has to say about this one after Christmas, I love the feel of it myself. Cost: $39.95

Lifeproof iPhone Case for iPhone 6:

We’ve lost too many phones without good quality cases over the years. We finally broke down and bought ourselves Lifeproof cases. No more shattered screens. No more swimming phones. Our phones are protected as long as we keep them tight within their new homes. Sure the phone isn’t as sleek and slim as it was the first week we had them, but I won’t be crying next week when I drop it in the driveway juggling the kids either. (Affiliate link to Amazon)
