ROOM OF THE WEEK :: 3.31
Woah. Where did March go you guys? As I was writing the date for today’s post I realized how this month just flew by! There’s been so much going on around here, which may be why I’m craving a more minimalist interior as our Room of the Week today…
This bedroom belongs to one of my favorite style mentors, Jenni Kayne (shot for C Magazine, here). Her entire home is an oasis with a mellow California style that is as refined as it is organic. A perfect mix of livable and collected…
Ok, so this bedroom alone is actually pretty basic – minus the insanely gorgeous vaulted ceilings, large-scale art, and a step-out to the pool. Take those away, and I think we could recreate this vibe fairly easy, actually. But then there’s the master bath:
Pretty stunning right? I love that it has a little private deck area so you can get that indoor/outdoor feel with total privacy. And a floating tub? How luxurious! I always wonder how often people actually use their stunning bathrooms like this…? I feel like I would make a point of it.
So, since this is one of those homes where to get the full effect, you can’t just see one room, but space in its entirety to get how it all vibes together, I’m obviously going to have to show you a few more favorite moments.
Like this perfectly simple staircase moment with lovely, organic architecture. Or her airy living room with double doors leading outside to an ideal patio space that boasts an outdoor fireplace…
Or, perhaps you prefer the breakfast nook? A cozy family spot, just off the kitchen…
I think I’m most envious of all those big iron doors and how everything feels so connected to the outside! Even the media room – painted all in black – comes with its own perfect view…
Which space would you claim as the Room of the Week? Or is it really the combination of them all that’s doing it for you, like it is for me?
