(Outfit Diary) Bohemian elegance with Free People

Some days are cold and grey, even in Paris - and I will be the first to admit that on those days, my sartorial inspiration is limited. All I want to do is stay warm! The struggle is real. But I firmly believe that fashion is all about having fun and experimenting with different styles. When it comes to casual dressing in Paris, I love to try new things - although French culture is actually quite conformist, even when it comes to fashion, Paris such a big place that I feel like I can try anything there; even if someone looks at me twice on the street, they won't remember me within the next ten minutes because the city is so full people. I've been a fan of the brand Free People since my retail days, and although no one would call my overall style bohemian, I think that adding boho touches to an outfit is really do-able - and a great way to make your casual outfits look more interesting, too. The basis of this look is really as basic as you can get - a white top, skinny jeans, black boots and a black bag. But by choosing this lace duster coat instead of my everyday grey wool jacket, and adding what can only be described as a truly fabulous hat, I completely changed up my cold weather style, added a bohemian vibe to my look while still maintaining my own style and actually stayed warm. In other words, this outfit is pretty much a fashion miracle, people. Il fait moche parfois, même à Paris - et j'avoue que ces jours, mon inspiration vestimentaire est presque inexistante. Je ne veux que rester chaud ! C'est la galère. Mais si vous me connaissez, vous savez que pour moi, la mode c'est le fun et que j'aime bien essayer des nouveaux styles. Même si on me regarde de travers dans la rue, on m'oublie aussitôt, tellement il y a du monde à la capitale. Je suis fan de la marque Free People depuis mais brève carrière de vendeuse, et bien que personne ne définira mon style comme bohémienne, je trouve que c'est plutôt facile d'ajouter une touche boho à vos tenues - et que ça fait changer du casual quotidien. À la base de ce look, j’ai mes incontournables - un haut blanc, un jean slim, des bottines noires et un sac noir. Mais au lieu de mon manteau laine gris de tous les jours, j'ai mis mon manteau Free People en dentelle noire et j'ai ajouté ce que je ne peux décrire que comme le chapeau le plus fabuleux du monde. Ce n'étaient que deux petits changements mais l'effet est frappant, je trouve - j'ai tout à fait changé ma tenue habituelle des jours moches, j'ai incorporé des touches bohémiennes et en plus, j'ai réussi à me garder au chaud. C'est-à-dire que cette tenue est quasiment miraculeuse, les filles.
