As usual, I’ve completely left New Year’s Eve plans for the last possible minute. Luckily, my dad owns a restaurant (if you’re looking for a place they still have room – check out the menu here!) so we’ll be headed there for dinner, but after that, the night is open to possibility! But one thing I don’t want to totally leave to chance is what I’ll be wearing…
Sure, I’ve got sequins galore, but if we end up staying in with friends, I may end up going with something fun, but casual. Enter the perfect solution: a tuxedo with a twist.
I mean, if you’re gonna be showing some leg off anyway, you might as well get sassy with some satin (or sequin?) shorts paired with a fabulous tuxedo shirt or jacket.
And for an extra girlish dose, just add a little pink…
1. tuxedo shirt // 2. velvet bow tie // 3. tuxedo shorts // 4. party time headband // 5. black stud earrings // 6. pink and gold suede heels // 7. paillette sequin shorts
Of course, with only a couple days left to throw an outfit together, I plan on raiding my own closet for something similar. Silver shorts and a white button up should do nicely, but I’m already thinking that tuxedo shirt from j.crew may need to find a place permanently in my closet! And if your’e not looking to invest in a full tuxedo look, pairing a starched white top with some casual shorts (like those sequin ones from H&M) will do the trick.
What are you planning to wear? I have a feeling mine will be another last-minute decision!
