Yearbook, volume II

Dear reader,
If you happen to hold this book in your virtual hands, it means you must be already familiar with the Monsieur Le blog. On this very page, I would like to express my gratitude and thank you thoroughly for your interest and loyalty shown through sticking together with me for another year. This annual round-up is the second volume of a yearbook I produced same time last year, and it exhibits another twelve months of my blogging in a collective form.

Even though the regularity of my journalizing has fluctuated from month to month, I couldn’t have imagined any without an entry. One of the milestones I’ve encountered throughout the past months was moving out from my parents’ house for good in summer, and organizing my new life chiefly limited the time dedicated to blogging. Today, when I look through the collection of blog posts I’ve created when time allowed, I’m quite pleased that many of them are travel diaries. Therefore, these stories, documented both visually and in written memoirs, fill most of this installment of a yearbook. Besides the culture of traveling, what you’re going to see on the next pages comprises a personal style journal and some other stories, such as event/place personal reports or galleries of self-portraits. On each month’s title page, you will also find a playlist. The songs that have accompanied every single post never cease to bring back all the good memories and squeeze a tear or ten. Together with the aforementioned, the stories told in photographs and writing cover my short excursions around idyllic countryside during golden hours or journeys to some truly wondrous cities, as well as my personal favourites of the film, literature, fashion and music inspirations. I only wish we had reached a level of technology development on which it’d be possible to hear a melody played when opening a new page of a magazine or book. But since we’re not there yet, I warmly recommend to make use of the twelve playlists and pay YouTube a visit when reading. I strongly believe that those songs are worth anyone’s time.

So here we are, closing the passing year and firmly stepping into another. I hope you’ll find the time spent on flicking through these pages enjoyable. Needless to write, I’ve enjoyed mine spent on putting it all together just mighty. My love affair with magazines has proved to be steely. The obsession of collecting them can be observed by checking out either the “On a coffee table” series of posts on my blog or their visual summation in a collage form on the previous two pages. And what I appreciate about that editorial inspirations probably most is the stimulation of lust for composing my very own publication. I leave you with pages that hopefully emanate the almost tangible synergy carved by writing combined with photography and a sea of love towards both. Maybe a picture can be worth a thousand words, but sometimes it cannot speak for itself. That’s where words may complement it and top up a story.
