HAUNTING TV - HORROR MADE, JEANETTE CONVEYED
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary. Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, while I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping at my door. 'Who could that be?' I exclaimed, 'Samantha? Rebecca? Or what about someone un-named?'. 'No' promptly replied a stunning brunette. Tis me, the horror honey, you can call Jeanette.
1) What are your own origins, Jeanette? Plus what path did you take in life prior to getting to where you are today? Ah! My origin story is one filled with world traveling, adventures in the dark unknown, and an addiction I still feed to this day.
OK. It's not actually that dramatic. My Dad was in the Navy so growing up for me meant a lot of world wandering with my family as a child, which fostered a couple of key elements in my personality. The first was said addiction -- to reading. (lol, I told you it wasn't that exciting). Every time we moved it meant starting all over, making new friends, so I often found some comfort in my books. If I wasn't reading I was sketching or writing my own stories and was generally lost in my own little world. And, for some reason, I've been forever obsessed with the mysteries hidden in dark spaces.
Out of that managed to grow a love for storytelling, which then mutated outwards into the many current branches of my life. I went to college for costume and set-design for theater and that transitioned into my doing production design for feature films. So no matter where I went, or what my medium happened to be, I was entirely focused on telling stories to the best of my abilities.
2) What inspired you to vlog and blog about horror? Blogging originally came about as a way to get myself to keep writing while working on feature films. I didn't want that little navy kid who spent so many days wrapped up in her notebooks to be entirely left behind. My first blog is basically a journal of my ventures into indie-film, but I never really felt motivated to update it more than occasionally (You're welcome to check it out if you'd like: jeanette-art.blogspot.com).

It wasn't until I started blogging about horror that I finally felt like I had things I really wanted to say. And it turns out that I do have a lot I want to say about the work that's being done in the genre. I've always had a fascination with horror. The world is so much more exciting when there are bizarre creatures lurking in it's shadows. This is a passion my husband, Alexander, and I share. We love horror movies. Making them, watching them, talking about them, all of it. That's were the vlogging comes into play.

Haunting Light". In between (and sometimes during) my time working on features we were writing scripts, building sets, and filming the series. But we didn't want to just make a show, toss it up on YouTube and call it a day. We wanted it to be our building block to create a channel were we could have a place to bring attention to some of our favorite horror content, and geek out over it with other passionate weirdos.

Haunting TV is the home Alexander and I have made for us to talk about the genre we love in all of it's forms, whether it's in a comic, a game, a book, or a movie. And now we have a way to share our passion projects, like season 2 of "Haunting Light", and a few other series we've been developing for the channel.

Horror Made is were I geek out without a time limit and work on my horror creations including artwork and flash fiction writing. On Horror Made you'll find horror book reviews, DIY special effects, interviews with makers of horror, and many varied things that have to do with the dark and macabre.
4) Have you had any form of recognition from the media? Does this interview count? Ha! Just kidding. The media appearances I've made are kind of a good look into the varied nature of my life. I've been in the news a few times locally, in Connecticut, for my work in the arts. Films I have production designed for have been featured on Bloody Disgusting and Fangoria. Even a few scatterings of my artwork have made it into some magazines.
As for Horror Made and Haunting TV being in the media, not yet. Both ventures are pretty young ones. Horror Made's first post was in August of 2014, and Haunting TV went live in October 2014. So thank you for being the first to take an interest!
5) What song would you say best represents your site and why? I'd say that Haunting TV is the Luigi's Mansion theme song. A little bit spooky, but more about the fun and the joy of exploring horror -- with a heavy doze of nerdiness to even it out.

6) If you could get a celebrity – either living or dead – to promote your wares, who would you choose, and why would you want to choose this particular person? Ooooo, good question. Bruce Campbell, because he is my personal poster-child for indie horror.
7) What have you learnt about yourself through this endeavour? I guess the most surprising thing I've learned is that I was actually quite terrified to be in front of the camera. I have since learned to really enjoy being our channel's voice and the process is really awakening a desire in me to do more acting.
