Makeup For February

Another drop of my monthly makeup picks is here! This time the theme is “pink” and “spring-ready”. If you look up for temperatures and weather conditions here (Bangalore) its beyond spring already.. nearly early summer if you ask me! Its getting VERY hot and hotter by the day and I am dreading it. Makeup-wise on the other hand, exciting times are coming and things are going to get brighter and lighter very soon!

Something else that is quite clearly the flavor of the month is “excess”. In contrast to my January makeup bag, this month (inspite of being a few days shorter) has a LOT of makeup to be used. In fact I don’t think I’ve ever had so much kept aside for a month before! This is partly due to the fact that I started working again, besides I am seriously mortified of my makeup going bad now as most of it expires in 2015! *freaks out*

As always *glowy skin* rules over matte or perfect hence the comeback of the Jouer Lumnizing Tint. Its amazing period. There isn’t much more to that which includes coverage (the lack of it). Appropriate for nearly perfect skin for a little hint of color which can do with less of coverage and oodles of glow. Perfect skin is a state of mind so I go with being realistic and have the MAC Select Moisture Cover Concealer at hand for days when the eye bags or spots decide to rear their heads.

Throwback to my other very first MAC blush, Coppertone, which (again) a reader reminded me of and (again) I rediscovered and haven’t stopped wearing since. Its matte, sheer-tone, beautiful, beautiful, and beautiful! Think a paler slightly more pink sister to MAC’s Gingerly. Actually just go and swatch it in store and prepare to fall in love!

Keeping the “spring-ready-ness” in mind I have Ginger Pop Blush from Clinique in this edit too as it comes handy on rushed mornings to perk up the cheeks without penalizing me for lack of blending or skill!

I have clearly outdone myself in the eyes department. All new (read unused) things here, KIKO Longlasting eyeshadow stick in 06 Golden Brown which I had in my November edit as well and clearly did not do a good job of using it, Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst, two Chanel eyeliners, Espresso (dark brown) and Khaki Precieux (LE) (green-brown-gold), and (when I cannot bother with anything else) Chanel’s Mirage illusion D’ombre cream eyeshadow. I am excited for this people… I really am!

Lips on the other hand are pretty standard. Sheer, glossy and balmy is the pattern and I feel comfortably rounded up with a brown, plum and pinky-nude. I may have fallen back in love with the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in #9. I wore it briefly one day and it stayed on my lips for so long and wore so well that I just could not stop wearing it since! I may need a back-up very soon. Do you know of dupes? fill me!

Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine in Scenario has crossed over from last month and I don’t see it getting replaced any time soon. Its just my perfect grown-up plum and pretty effortless really! Its like the glossier version of Rouge Coco in Venise for those of you who might own that. Its essentially the same color.

Phew! Thats a lot right? I am really looking forward to a lot of makeup-fun and probably a very beauty-heavy blogging month.

Let me know what you’re loving right now!

If January wasn’t exciting enough for us, we have our 1st wedding Anniversary on the 9th of Feb! Time literally flies people. We are a year old! We’ll be out and about this weekend and next week mostly. Stay glued to the blog (kidding!) and have a good weekend everyone!
