My Shopping Cart is Full Again

Remember how I was NOT buying anything for the longest time and had good run of what I fondly call “use before you buy”? Well, thats ancient history because I am in the craziest shopping zone right now and its almost impossible to snap out of it! After I dropped some cash on a new handbag, shoes and clothing pieces last week, my attention is now turned to things on the beauty shelves, of course. I thought it’ll be a good idea to share this with you folks and get a perspective?

Skincare

1 / When it comes to makeup removal (or whatever is left of it at the end of the day!) I always prefer an oil or balm. The idea of soaking a cotton pad and keeping it on the eyes for sometime does not appeal to me especially when I know a quick massage of an oil is all it will take to get rid off everything! I tried a decent sized sample of the Clinique Take The day off cleansing balm for nearly a week and (which to think of was not really necessary because..) I fell for it on the first go! It really is pretty good and as amazing as everyone says! The best part, it washes off COMPLETELY! Now that I’ve used up my existing lot of oil cleansers, The Purchase Happens Today!

2 / Contradicting my own beliefs and statements on “moisturisers”, I cannot help but go moony eyed for the MV Organics Rose Soothing Moisturiser. While I always believe that moisturisers are something that usually go on top of serums and oils so need not be state-of-the-art but, when one comes packed with a lot of antioxidants and other skin calming/soothing ingredients while not needing other products to back it up, thats when I change my stance! This is a very popular product from what I’ve gathered from reviews and also equally un-affordable but, I am really really tempted to see what the fuss is about!

3 / If there is one beauty blogger favorite that I am yet to experience it has to be chemical exfoliation! I know! How did it take me this long? After much thought and consideration I think I am ready to say yes to exfoliating pads! Luckily for me I have plenty of options to choose from but somehow feel my heart slightly bent towards these ones from Radical Skincare. They don’t come cheap but from the hundreds of reviews I’ve read they lie on that comfortable middle position in terms of how strong they are in formulation. Will keep you posted if these do come home!

Makeup

I know I just spent a lot of money on Hourglass goodies and a few other significantly expensive beauty products but, somehow I am again in that state where I am yearning new things! This time though my daily dose of beauty blogs are to be blamed which have been consistently hammering me with rave upon rave of juicy summer releases and all kinds of beautiful makeup! A girl can only do so much to resist!

4 / My face right now is driving me mad. It eats up all of my makeup by the end of the day and there is nothing that I can do to make it stay! I was so desperate one morning that I madly rummaged through my stash of samples to find something that spelled “primer” and fortunately the Clinique Universal Super Primer was waiting! That sample lasted me a whole week and I am IMPRESSED! A quick look through the reviews and I found that it is stock full of antioxidants and has a 4 star rating on Beautypedia.. does it get better than that? I think not! As for my experience, this definitely controls the excess sweatiness and oiliness on the T zone and my face looks significantly more polished, even and GLORIOUS than it has ever this whole season! Even after 9 hours of work day my blush, concealer, powder everything can still be found on my face which is nothing short of a miracle. Definitely Buying!

5 / From what I know, only the best kind of adjectives from the English language have ever been used for Terry and her range of “By Terry” products; sometimes even superlatives. The Ombre Blackstar eyeshadows are excruciatingly expensive and if I compare then the price of one it amounts to my week’s grocery! So unlike what a sensible person would do, I went ahead and purchased one in Brown Perfection and its on its way to me as we speak! You bet you’re going to hear more about it soon.

6 / Because I love lipsticks and because I love sheer lipsticks, THIS lipstick purchase was just waiting to happen! I was initially drawn to the new Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine lipsticks (which based on Christine’s reviews are amazing!) but they haven’t yet reached my local store (I’d be surprised if they manage to get it in the next 3 months!). I found the Givenchy Le Rouge-À-Porter while “casually” browsing FeelUnique and yeah… These scream luxury and if the original Le Rouge is anything to go by, these are going to be equally FABULOUS! I bought the shade 105, Brun Vintage and already plotting a purchase of two more; a coral 206 and a beige 102.

7 / I finally bit the bullet and got myself a grown up, actual, real brow gel! I have been using The Body Shop’s version of what looks like a brow gel and while it works when its new, after a month or so it starts depositing white flecks on the brows; not a pretty look! I have high hopes pinned on the Anastasia Brow Gel!

8 / This is still in the offing, I am still umming and aaahing over it but from the reviews I’ve read (which have been equal parts good and bad) I think this could be right up my street. The Fairydrops Scandal Queen Mascara has been called mediocre, its been called too natural, and its been called meh, all of this while someone we all know absolutely adores it! I think if its good enough for her…

Body and Hair

9 / I am a self proclaimed Aêsop aficionado. At any given time I have plenty of things on my Aesop wishlist which for the longest time has had the Geranium Leaf Body Scrub on it. I have been trying hard to find a replacement for my beloved Lush Rub Rub Rub scrub and tried a few samples of exfoliators from here n there, but for some reason my attention always goes back to this one! I think I may have to take the plunge soon as I am running dangerously low on body scrubs right now!

10 & 11 / From where I stand, Davines is everywhere. In the past month alone I have seen the brand mentioned by atleast ten bloggers! What that does to my mind is make the urge to try it very strong! I found the MELU range (the brand has a very funny nomenclature) meant for long and weakened hair to fit the bill since my hair is long and I don’t mind something that strengthens it more! Given the price which is easily half of what Kérastase comes for there is nothing holding me back from buying these!

12 / See how cute this mini yellow Wet Brush is? ‘Nuf said.
